FDA
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, responsible for regulating the safety of food contact materials. All food contact materials entering the U.S. market must be tested and confirmed safe by the FDA before they can be sold. For paper food packaging, it must comply with U.S. FDA CFR 21 176.170.
ISEGA
ISEGA is an independent testing and certification body based in Germany. Its test reports and certificates are widely recognized and used by users in Europe and around the world. According to ISEGA's certification criteria, all materials that come into contact with food must comply with European regulations.
