Why Register?

Currently, Japan, the United States, the European Union, and other countries have established and implemented registration systems for food businesses to strengthen food safety management.
Food registration is an important international trend in food safety management. In 1991, the United Kingdom passed a mandatory food premises registration system, requiring businesses engaged in food production, processing, preparation, transportation, and sales to register before operating. In 2002, the United States implemented a food premises registration system under the Bioterrorism Act. All domestic and foreign food businesses, including those involved in manufacturing, processing, packaging, storage, and transportation, are required to register. This allows the government to understand the businesses' basic systems and product information, enabling effective guidance and management, and ultimately strengthening the food industry.

On the other hand, businesses that have obtained food business registration numbers are encouraged to print their own registration labels and affix them to their business premises or product packaging, so that the public can see that food businesses are fully cooperating with government policies. Currently, this is mandatory for food businesses that have commercial, company, or factory registrations. In the future, all food businesses will be required to register, so as to effectively grasp the information of food businesses and use information platforms to connect them, in order to protect the food hygiene, safety, and health of the people.
